Algoma Public Health have been working with partner agencies over the summer to increase the number of sites and number of hours that harm reduction supplies are available. They intend to have these new sites operating soon. Over the summer, the Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy, in partnership with Maamweysing and Batchewana First Nation, began conducting street outreach in the downtown and on reserve.

As well, some of the partner agencies that make up the Sault and Area Drug Strategy are applying to various funders to increase the number of staff and services available to help people get into and stay in recovery. We hope to know in the next few months if we are successful in increasing the services in the Sault.
